Your Black World reports

The rapper Lil Wayne has been sued for $15 million by a company that claims that he stole the song “Bedrock.”  The suit, which was filed in New York, was brought forth by Done Deal Enterprises.  The company says that Dwayne Carter (aka Lil Wayne) committed copyright infringement after they created the song back in 2009.  The song also features Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lloyd.   It reached number 2 on the Bill Board charts back in 2010.

This is one of many legal challenges for the artist.  Wayne just finished a one-year prison sentence earlier this year and is the target of numerous lawsuits.  As he faces his legal challenges, his company, “Young Money Records,” features many of the leading artists in America today.  He was also the leading nominee for BET Awards.  Dr. Boyce Watkins, among others, has challenged Lil Wayne for his lyrical content, which he claims glamorizes and makes light of the killing of women and children.  He also criticized BET for giving Lil Wayne so many nominations and thus promoting violent and destructive lyrical content to African Americans.  Lil Wayne is due to appear in court on October 12.
